Stephanie Cadieux - In Focus

Since 2001, Stephanie has been with the BC Paraplegic Association first as a Program Coordinator and for the last 4 years as the Director of Marketing and Development. BCPA programs remove the barriers in society that exclude people with disabilities. By assisting communities to identify and eliminate these barriers to full community participation BCPA supports the more than 400,000 British Columbians that have a disability that affects their mobility.

Living with a spinal cord injury since a car crash at the age of 18, she has become a strong community advocate for programs to assist people with physical disabilities achieve goals and regain independence. In 2007, Stephanie worked with 2010 Legacies Now developing an Accessible Tourism Plan for BC.

Stephanie was selected as one of Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 Under 40 for 2007.

Stephanie has lived South Surrey for 6 years with her husband and enjoys sailing and travel and is excited to be running for the BC Liberals team.

Stephanie's Community Involvement

  • President of the RealWheels Society, a theatre company that promotes positive roles for people with disabilities.
  • Mentor with the YWCA Connect to Success program.
  • Member of the Global TV Diversity Advisory Committee.
  • Member of the advisory panel for the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries (ICORD), an integrated international spinal cord injury research organization.
  • Member of the 2010 Legacies Now Disability Advisory Committee.
  • Member of the ActNow BC Leadership Council for the Province of BC.
  • Stephanie has participated in International Development projects in El Salvador and Senegal.
